During your check-up, we will also evaluate whether you could benefit from cosmetic dentistry procedures. We also specialise in cosmetic dentistry services, such as veneers and crowns.
We specialise in the following cosmetic treatments:
Crowns
A crown is a cover that is placed over a damaged tooth. We use crowns to restore the tooth to its normal size, shape, and function. Besides restoring the health of your teeth, crowns can also improve the aesthetics of your smile by making your teeth appear straighter.
Veneers
A are thin layers of tooth-coloured material that are bonded to the front surface of damaged or discoloured teeth. Veneers can help correct various teeth problems. Patients who want to enhance their appearance by improving the structure and aesthetic quality of their teeth may benefit from veneers. Adults with misaligned or crooked teeth are also good candidates.
Other general dentistry services we offer:
Twice a year check-ups
This generally involves an examination and cleaning. During the examination, Dr Engelbrecht will check your teeth for cavities, plaque and tartar. For the cleaning phase, we use a scaler to remove tartar and plaque build-up. A gritty toothpaste and high-powered electric toothbrush are then used to further clean the teeth. Finally, we floss the teeth if necessary.
Routine Dental X-rays
X-rays are an essential part of a dental care treatment plan. They are diagnostic, but they can also be preventative by helping us diagnose potential oral care issues in a patient’s mouth before they become a major problem. X-rays help detect cavities, help diagnose periodontal disease and check the health of tooth roots and the bones surrounding teeth.
Paediatric Dentistry
Dr Engelbrecht knows how important it is for children to get the best oral care from day one. We treat all children with the utmost of patience and explain oral hygiene to them in a manner that’s easy to understand. We recommend that you schedule your child’s first dental visit when their first tooth erupts. Child-specific treatments include fissure sealants and fluoride treatment.
Root canal treatment
This treatment is generally performed on a tooth that has severe pain or an abscess and causes discomfort. The procedure takes place over two appointments and involves removing the infected part of the tooth, cleaning and disinfecting it. Finally,we fill and seal the tooth

Common problems in older patients include missing teeth, gum disease and darkened teeth. We provide regular oral hygiene visits, fixed or removable prostheses and any other special needs that an older person would require.
